Guild Wars 2 Beta Development Update

Today we get the first official blog post following up this weekend's press beta event for Guild Wars 2.
In this update game designers Randy Knapp, Devon Carver, Jon Peters and Lead Game Designer Eric Flannum give us a quick overview of some core gameplay elements and mechanics that have changed since they were available for public play at last year's conventions.
Downed-State and Repair Mechanics
Several small tweaks have been made to the Downed-State with the goal to make it more meaningful and less frustrating in certain situations. Additionally, the new repair system provides a long-term attrition mechanic similar d3 gold quick delivery to a death penalty.
•While downed, the fourth skill was changed into a channeled heal (instead of a call for help) that is interrupted by damage to enable players to get back up if no enemies and no players are around.
•The penalty for being downed multiple times in a short amount of time has been increased, making it harder to get back up if you get downed too often.
•The cost for traveling back to a waypoint after being defeated has been reduced, instead:
•When a player is defeated, and not just downed, a random piece of their armor will diablo 3 power leveling be damaged.
•If a player is defeated while all of their armor is damaged, then a random piece of armor will break.
•When armor breaks, it ceases to provide any benefit to the player and must be repaired by visiting an armor-repair NPC in town for a small amount of gold.
The Compass
•The compass now provides different zoom levels using the mouse wheel.
•You can now pan the map by right-clicking and dragging.
•Just like in Guild Wars 1 it is possible to draw on the map (to give directions to team mates).
Meta-Events
A meta-event is a series of dynamic d3 gold events that come together to tell the story of an area. Examples include:
A meta-event might tell you the story of a norn area in danger of being corrupted by the Sons of Svanir, or maybe a human region constantly threatened by centaur armies. When the area is peaceful, you’ll know that the centaurs are being held in check, but when the invasion begins, you’ll see information pointing you where to go to help the people of the world stay safe from centaurs. Driving the centaurs back might require a herculean effort with groups of players destroying several catapults and killing centaur captains. A meta-event can cover a guild wars 2 gold much larger region than a standard event might; you could as much as a quarter of the map thrown into turmoil by a meta-event!
Hidden Treasures
To offer additional challenges and reward exploration, the Guild Wars 2 level designers have added a number of hidden treasures to all maps, including puzzles or similar challenges to have to be completed.
Boons and Conditions
Boons and conditions have seen a revamp, after the previous iteration didn't seem to be interesting or fun enough.
